The AIS Method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, and facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes. Fascia or myofascia is the dense, tough tissue which surrounds and covers all of your muscles and bones (complete body suit which runs from the top of your head down to the bottom of your toes.)
When fascia is damaged or traumatized it can become too tight and cause a number of problems such as headaches, muscle pain and spasms, chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, breathing difficulties, poor posture and reduced flexibility. Performing an Active Isolated Stretch of no longer than 2 seconds allows the target muscles to optimally lengthen and achieve a state of relaxation. These stretches provide maximum benefit, restoration of a full range of motion and flexibility.
